Job Description
The Communications, Community Outreach, and External Relations Volunteer contributes to the success of Franco Festival 2026 by fostering connections with community organizations, associations, businesses, and regional partners. Their primary role is to promote the festival to various audiences to encourage participation and increase the event’s visibility.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in communication, community representation, public relations, and event organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
A. Community Relations and Outreach

Establish and maintain connections with community organizations, cultural associations, schools, and local groups.

Communicate with potential partners to promote the Franco Festival.

Participate in awareness and representation activities within the community.

Identify collaboration opportunities with different organizations.
B. Communications and Promotion

Disseminate information regarding the festival across community networks.

Write or adapt promotional messages, emails, and external communications.

Support the distribution of promotional and informational materials.

Respond to inquiries from partners and the general public.
C. Partnership Support
-
Follow up on contacts and exchanges with partner organizations.

Maintain up-to-date contact lists and partner databases.

Assist in coordinating activities involving community partners.
D. Franco Festival Support

Welcome and orient community partners during the event.

Participate in coordinating outreach activities on the festival site.

Contribute to promotional activities before and during the festival.

Represent the Franco Festival in a professional and positive manner.
Qualifications and Requirements

Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Spoken and written French is mandatory.

Strong command of spoken and written English is highly desired.

Comfortable communicating with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Strong organizational skills, initiative, and professionalism.

Interest in the Francophone community and cultural events.

Experience in customer service, communications, or community development (an asset).
Commitment

Flexible availability based on the festival’s preparation and promotion needs.

Participation in coordination meetings as required.

Attendance during the Franco Festival is highly desired.
