Job Description: Fundraising and Partnership Development Volunteer

The Fundraising and Partnership Development Volunteer contributes to the success of Franco Festival 2026 by seeking out potential sponsors, financial partners, and donors. Their primary role is to help mobilize the financial resources necessary for the festival’s success and growth, while developing long-lasting relationships with the business community and partner organizations.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in business development, public relations, negotiation, and partnership management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. Sponsorship Research and Development

  • Identify potential businesses, organizations, and partners likely to support the Franco Festival.

  • Conduct research on sponsorship and funding opportunities.

  • Maintain an up-to-date list of prospects and potential partners.

  • Participate in developing solicitation strategies.

B. Relations with Sponsors and Partners

  • Contact businesses and organizations to present partnership opportunities.

  • Follow up on discussions with potential sponsors.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and future partners.

  • Represent the Franco Festival at meetings and networking events.

C. Fundraising Support

  • Assist in preparing presentation documents and sponsorship proposals.

  • Help highlight and promote the benefits offered to partners.

  • Support the organization of fundraising and community engagement activities.

  • Handle the administrative follow-up of sponsorship commitments.

D. Franco Festival Support

  • Collaborate with the organizing team to ensure commitments to sponsors are met.

  • Welcome and support partners during the festival.

  • Contribute to sponsor visibility and recognition during the event.

  • Represent the Franco Festival in a professional and positive manner.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Spoken and written French is mandatory.

  • Strong command of spoken and written English is highly desired.

  • Comfortable communicating with businesses, organizations, and community partners.

  • Initiative, autonomy, and professionalism.

  • Ability to build relationships of trust and work with various stakeholders.

  • Experience in sales, fundraising, business development, or customer service (an asset).

Commitment

  • Flexible availability based on the festival’s preparation and fundraising needs.

  • Participation in coordination meetings as required.

  • Attendance during the Franco Festival is highly desired.
