Esdras Ngenzi
Esdras Ngenzi holds a doctorate in geography from the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. After immigrating to Canada in 1997, he worked in the Ontario college system for some 15 years, at Collège des Grands Lacs, Collège Niagara and Collège Boréal as a teacher, coordinator, program designer and campus administrator.
He is involved in the francophone minority community in Ontario and Alberta, and provides leadership in community development with a particular interest in francophone immigration. He has served on the boards of several organizations (Niagara Training and Adjustment Board-NTAB in St Catharines, Employment Help Centre in St Catharines, ACFO-Regionale Niagara in Catharines). He is interested in French-language health issues, which is why he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Centre d'accès aux soins communautaires-CASC Erie St Clair for 5 years and has sat on other health services committees. From 2011 to 2012, he was the first president of the Entité de Planification des services de santé en français Erie St Clair et Sud-Ouest. He previously sat on the board of Réseau Santé albertain and oversaw the development of a French-language clinic in Calgary.
In Alberta, he served as General Manager of the Association Canadienne française, Régionale de Calgary, from 2013 to 2018, and of the Centre d'accueil des nouveaux arrivants francophones de Calgary (CANAF) from 2016 to the present.
He has developed expertise in several sectors, including adult education, employability, francophone immigration, community development and the management of public and non-profit organizations.
